The AirTAC STA63 is a single-acting, spring-return thin compact cylinder (pull type) with a 63 mm bore and a 20 mm piston rod. Compressed air retracts the rod and a built-in spring extends it when the air is released, so the rod rests extended; only one port takes air. Catalog output with the spring force already deducted is 1225.5 N pull at 0.5 MPa and 1786.2 N at 0.7 MPa. The spring stroke has no air behind it, so it must not carry a load.
All STA63 versions share 1/4" air ports, an M10×1.5 female rod thread (B versions have a M18×1.5 male rod end) and rubber bumpers at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.2 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 50 to 500 mm/s. This page lists 18 stock order codes with strokes from 5 to 30 mm; catalog standard strokes run up to 30 mm.

AirTAC catalog values for the single-acting pull type: air force on the bore minus the Ø20 mm rod less the return-spring force. The spring stroke delivers no rated force.

About 1225.5 N at 0.5 MPa covers most pushing, lifting and indexing tasks.
Foot or flange mounting holds the cylinder rigid for clamps.
Clevis and trunnion versions drive mechanisms that swing.
Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.
Every code on this page is the basic version without a mounting code: the cylinder is fixed through its own mounting holes.
Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors; B gives a male threaded rod end instead of the standard female thread.
Air retracts the rod with about 1225.5 N at 0.5 MPa (catalog value, spring force deducted); the internal spring extends it when the port is vented. The force does not depend on the stroke code.
No. The return stroke is driven only by the internal spring, and AirTAC specifies that single-acting cylinders must not be loaded on it. Use a double-acting model if both directions must do work.
1/4" ports, PT thread as standard.
Every code on this page is the basic version without a mounting code; the cylinder is fixed through its own mounting holes.
Usually yes. Request a quote with the stroke, mounting and version and we will confirm whether it can be built, plus price and lead time.
0.2 to 1.0 MPa operating pressure (proof 1.5 MPa) and -20 to +70 °C on filtered air.
