About the AirTAC HGS
The AirTAC HGS is a double-acting micro precision slide table: a small cylinder drives a table that runs on a stainless steel guide rail, so the load sits on the table instead of on a piston rod. The rail gives high rigidity and good straightness and anti-rotation accuracy, and the connecting pin is high-strength alloy steel for impact resistance and long life.
It comes in Ø6 to Ø12 mm bores and 5 to 25 mm strokes. The body and table have locating pin holes, so the slide goes back to the same position after removal. Sensor grooves are on both sides of the body; code S adds the magnet and sensor holder, code J adds the stroke adjuster. It works on air filtered to 40 µm at 50 to 500 mm/s, -20 to +70 °C, with no lubrication.

Choosing the Right HGS Configuration
Choose the bore by the load the table carries. Maximum load: Ø6 0.3 kg, Ø8 0.3 kg, Ø10 0.8 kg, Ø12 1.2 kg; with the stroke adjuster Ø6 drops to 0.2 kg, and with a hydraulic shock absorber Ø10 and Ø12 take 1.6 kg and 2.0 kg.
Then the stroke: Ø6 5, 10 mm; Ø8 5, 10, 15, 20 mm; Ø10 5, 10, 15, 20 mm; Ø12 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 mm. Check the allowable moment for overhung loads: it rises with the longer strokes.
Pick the version: basic, magnet (S) for position sensing with DMSH or EMSH sensors, stroke adjuster (J) to trim the end position, or both (SJ). On Ø10 and Ø12 the adjuster can be swapped for a hydraulic shock absorber, ordered separately.
