About the AirTAC NPM
The AirTAC NPM is an air-hydraulic tool release (knock-out) cylinder for machining-centre spindles: an air cylinder drives a hydraulic piston that pushes the drawbar to release the tool, multiplying the force to 3.5, 4.5 or 6.0 t. The hydraulic side is single acting and returns on a spring; the air side is double acting and switched by the built-in 4M310 solenoid valve.
It also blows air through the spindle: at the end of the hydraulic stroke two small holes line up and the spindle blow opens automatically, with an adjustable flow. A float in the oil cup carries a magnet, so a CMSG, DMSG or EMSG sensor can warn of a low oil level. The hydraulic bore is specially treated for wear and corrosion resistance and special seal materials keep it tight.

Choose the model by the release force your spindle needs: NPM35T63X13 3.5 t at 0.6 MPa, 63 mm hydraulic bore, 13 mm knock stroke; NPM45T63X13 4.5 t at 0.6 MPa, 63 mm hydraulic bore, 13 mm knock stroke; NPM45T63X15 4.5 t at 0.6 MPa, 63 mm hydraulic bore, 15 mm knock stroke; NPM60T70X15 5.7 t at 0.6 MPa, 70 mm hydraulic bore, 15 mm knock stroke.
Then the solenoid valve voltage: DC24V (B), AC220V (A), AC110V (C), AC24V (E), DC12V (F).
Finally the wiring: a DIN connector (no code) or lead wire (I), with or without two micro switches (L). The L switches signal the end of the stroke to the machine control so the tool change steps stay in sequence.
