AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC TACQ series is a guided, non-rotating compact cylinder spanning 12-100 mm bores, built to drive and carry lateral loads in one unit for space-constrained machines.
inventory_2203 models availableThe AirTAC TACQ series is the guided, non-rotating version of the ACQ compact cylinder. Two guide shafts on a fixing plate keep the rod from rotating and let it carry lateral load a plain compact rod cannot. This replaces a separate linear guide, driving and guiding a load in one unit.
The range spans 10 bores from 12 to 100 mm. The drive force equals a standard ACQ of the same bore, spanning 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for the 12 mm bore up to 3927 N for the 100 mm bore. The guides add stiffness, not thrust.
Shared design features include double-acting operation, a compact C-clip/riveted body, and a fixed elastomer bumper. It is a guided thin cylinder, not a tie-rod or ISO cylinder. Non-rotating tolerance is about +/-0.2 deg on small bores and +/-0.15 deg on 20-100 mm sizes. A maximum reverse torque and mass/speed limit apply at 0.5 MPa.

Ideal for assembly stations where the twin guide shafts prevent rod rotation during vertical pick-and-place, ensuring gripper jaw alignment without a separate linear guide.
Handles lateral loads from pushing cardboard flaps on packaging lines. The fixed elastomer bumper absorbs end-of-stroke impact in short cycle applications.
Drives short-stroke sorting arms on conveyors where the compact C-clip body saves space and the guide shafts resist side loads from deflecting products.
Moves paper or substrate guides in printing machinery where strict non-rotating accuracy (+/-0.15 deg on 20-100 mm bores) keeps alignment precise over short strokes.
Choose the bore based on the required drive force (56.5 N to 3927 N at 0.5 MPa) and the guided stroke length. Always confirm the charted maximum reverse torque and mass/speed limit for your bore at 0.5 MPa to prevent guide failure. Select the -S magnet option if position sensing is required.
Step out of the TACQ to the plain ACQ if your load has no lateral force or rotation risk and you need maximum compactness. Choose the ACQD double-rod variant if you need higher lateral load capacity and symmetrical thrust. When specifying, confirm these 5 points: bore/size, guided stroke, port/thread, mounting interface, and magnet -S option.
Quick checklist
The TACQ series spans 10 bores from 12 to 100 mm. Double-acting push force at 0.5 MPa ranges from 56.5 N on the 12 mm bore to 3927 N on the 100 mm bore. The guide shafts add stiffness for lateral loads but do not increase the drive thrust.
The TACQ is the guided, non-rotating version of the ACQ thin cylinder, using twin guide shafts to carry lateral load. The ACQ is the plain compact version for loads without side force. The ACQD is a double-rod variant offering higher lateral load capacity and symmetrical thrust.
Non-rotating tolerance is about +/-0.2 deg on small bores and +/-0.15 deg on the 20 to 100 mm bores. Because it uses a fixed elastomer bumper, it is a compact non-ISO cylinder, not a tie-rod design.
No. The TACQ is a double-acting air cylinder and cannot hold position unpowered. The fixed elastomer bumper only decelerates the piston near stroke end. A mechanical lock, rod brake, or pilot check valve is required for load holding.
