About the AirTAC ACA27
The AirTAC ACA27 is a self-compensating hydraulic shock absorber with a M27×1.5 fully threaded body, in 25 mm or 50 mm strokes. The resistance adjusts itself to the impact, and three speed types cover the range: 1 for high speed and light loads, 2 for medium, 3 for low speed and heavy loads. The one-piece body takes high pressure, the threaded body makes mounting and adjustment easy and sheds heat well, and the hardened stainless steel piston rod resists impact and corrosion.
Maximum energy absorption is 140 to 250 J per cycle, at impact speeds up to 4 m/s. It works from -5 to +70 °C; keep side loads within 3°. A stop nut lets the stroke end act as a positive stop, and a flange is available as an accessory.

Choosing the Right ACA27 Configuration
Choose the model by the energy per cycle and the effective mass to be stopped (see the table): AirTAC recommends using 20% to 80% of the maximum energy. For a long life, stop the load 1 mm before the rod bottoms out, using the stop nut.
Then the speed range: 1 for fast, light loads (up to 4 m/s), 2 for medium (up to 2 m/s), 3 for slow, heavy loads (up to 1 m/s). If the load bounces back at the start of the stroke, choose a faster type (lower number); if it bounces at the end, a slower one.
Finally the cap: plastic cap, no cap (N), steel cap (F). N versions have no cap and the rod strikes directly. F has a steel cap for heavier impacts.
