About the AirTAC TACQ80

The AirTAC TACQ80 is a double-acting compact (ultra-thin) cylinder with an 80 mm bore and a 25 mm piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 2513 N and pulls 2268 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 3519 N push and 3175 N pull. Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output. Two guide rods hold the end plate against rotation: AirTAC rates the non-rotation accuracy at ±0.15°, the angle the plate can turn with the cylinder fully retracted. The double guide rods resist bending and torsion, so the cylinder takes larger moving and side loads; they are hard-chrome-plated S45C steel running in brass bushings.

All TACQ80 versions share 3/8" air ports and rubber bumpers at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.15 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 500 mm/s. This page lists 23 stock order codes with strokes from 10 to 100 mm; catalog standard strokes run up to 100 mm.

Push = pressure × bore area; pull subtracts the Ø25 mm rod area. Usable force is lower because of friction and back-pressure.

Where the TACQ80 Is Used

Heavy pushing and lifting

About 2513 N at 0.5 MPa moves heavy slides, lifts gates and ejects parts.

Clamping and pressing

Rigid mountings for press-fit, riveting and heavy clamping.

Pivoting mechanisms

Clevis and trunnion versions drive levers, dampers and tilting tables.

Choosing the Right TACQ80 Configuration

Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.

Every code on this page is the basic version without a mounting code: the cylinder is fixed through its own mounting holes.

Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors; G replaces the standard PT ports with G (BSPP).

AirTAC TACQ80 FAQ

No. Every TACQ80 gives about 2513 N push and 2268 N pull at 0.5 MPa, whatever the stroke.

±0.15°, measured as the angle the end plate can turn with the cylinder fully retracted (AirTAC catalog). The two guide rods also carry side loads that would bend a plain piston rod.

3/8" ports, PT thread as standard. The G version has G (BSPP) ports.

Every code on this page is the basic version without a mounting code; the cylinder is fixed through its own mounting holes.

Usually yes. Request a quote with the stroke, mounting and version and we will confirm whether it can be built, plus price and lead time.

0.15 to 1.0 MPa operating pressure (proof 1.5 MPa) and -20 to +70 °C on filtered air.

No. You can order a single TACQ80. Orders are processed and handed to the carrier within 3-5 business days.
