About the AirTAC MDJ32
The AirTAC MDJ32 is a double-acting double-rod, adjustable-stroke multi-mount cylinder with a 32 mm bore. With a rod on both sides it gives the same force each way: 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa. Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output.
The compact square body can be fixed from several faces and several cylinders can be mounted side by side. The piston rod exits at both ends of the body. The rod guide needs no added lubrication. All MDJ32 versions use 1/8" air ports and run on filtered air at 0.15 to 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 500 mm/s. This page lists 51 stock order codes with strokes from 5 to 80 mm; the catalog maximum stroke is 60 mm, and the longer codes are non-standard strokes we already supply.

Both directions use the bore area minus the rod area. Usable force is lower because of friction and back-pressure.

Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.
Then choose the stroke adjustment: the number after the stroke is the adjustable stroke range of the J type (10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm on this page).
Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors.
