About the AirTAC MSBL20
The AirTAC MSBL20 is a single-acting, spring-return aluminium-barrel mini cylinder (push type) with a 20 mm bore and an 8 mm piston rod. Compressed air extends the rod and a built-in spring retracts it when the air is released, so the rod rests retracted; only one port takes air. Catalog output with the spring force already deducted is 109.9 N push at 0.5 MPa and 172.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The spring stroke has no air behind it, so it must not carry a load.
All MSBL20 versions share 1/8" air ports, an M8×1.25 rod thread and rubber bumpers at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.2 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 50 to 800 mm/s. Choosing the Right MSBL20 Configuration
Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.
Then choose the back cover and mounting. The back cover sets how the rear of the cylinder is fixed or where its air enters (CA clevis-end cover, U flat-end cover). A clevis-end cover with an SDB pivot bracket lets the cylinder swing; flat or round covers with an FA flange or LB foot hold it rigid.
Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors.
