About the Airtac PSL Throttle Speed Control Fitting PSL1002B
The PSL1002B is an inline speed controller that screws into a 1/4in PT port and takes Dia 10mm soft nylon or polyurethane tubing on the outlet. Its brass throttling column slows the air in one direction only, so the actuator speed is set where you need it while the opposite flow path stays wide open. The B suffix marks it as a meter-in type: flow from the thread port to the tube runs free, and the reverse path from tube back to thread is throttled. Meter-Out or Meter-In?

Meter-in (B) is right for a single-acting cylinder driven by a solenoid valve; if you are slowing the exhaust of a double-acting cylinder, you want the A version, PSL1002A, instead. On size: the neighbour below on the same 1/4in thread is PSL802B with a Dia 8mm bore, a step down in tubing that trims the volume being controlled; Dia 12mm does not exist on a 1/4in thread in the PSL ladder, so the step up is PSL1203B, which moves to a 3/8in thread and a Dia 12mm bore. If you want the tube to swivel after installation rather than point one fixed way, the PSS802B or PSS1203B universal versions are the equivalents.
Fit the controller directly at the cylinder port, not back at the valve manifold. The throttle only works on the air between the restriction and the actuator, so keeping that volume small makes the speed setting far more predictable and repeatable.
