The PSL4M5B is a knob-adjusted speed controller that throttles air in one direction only. This is the B version, so flow from the M5 thread port into the Dia 4 tube runs free, while air travelling the other way - out of the tube, back to the port - is throttled. That is meter-in control, the method AirTAC recommends for single-acting cylinders, where the spring side needs no back-pressure and the powered stroke is what you time.
Adjustment is a grey knob with an aluminium locking cap: set the speed by hand, then tighten the cap so vibration cannot drift the setting. Meter-Out or Meter-In?
