The PSL1203AD-S is a threaded-port speed controller in the largest bore AirTAC offers on a 3/8in base: Dia 12 tubing on a 3/8in PT thread, finished in the D black body colour rather than the standard grey. It throttles air in one direction to set actuator speed and lets air pass freely the other way, so the cylinder ports breathe unimpeded on the return stroke. This code is the A type - meter-out: flow from the thread port to the tube is restricted, the reverse direction runs wide open, and the handle is marked A. AirTAC treats meter-out as the default choice because throttling the exhaust of a double-acting cylinder builds a back-pressure cushion that keeps the stroke smooth instead of lurching under a changing load.
