The PSL4M5A is a meter-out speed controller: air flowing from the M5 thread port out to the Dia 4 tube is throttled, while the return direction passes freely. This is AirTAC's recommended arrangement for a solenoid valve driving a double-acting cylinder, because throttling the exhaust leaves a back-pressure cushion that keeps the stroke smooth instead of stick-slipping. The handle carries an A marking so the controlled direction is visible on the machine.
Adjustment is a knurled knob with an aluminium-alloy locking cap that clamps the setting against vibration.
