The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106BG is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106BG is a single AirTAC 3V1 valve ordered in the parallel-thread version: 1/8-inch G (BSPP) ports with the straight thread your European-style manifold blocks and bonded-seal fittings expect, a DC24V coil drawing just 3.0 W, and a DIN-plug electrical connection. It is a direct-acting 3/2 valve with one solenoid and a spring return, so it either feeds one line or vents it to exhaust - exactly what a single-acting cylinder, a blow-off nozzle, a clamp or a pilot stage needs. Because the poppet is shifted by the coil alone, it works from the supply pressure you already have, with no minimum pressure bias across the stated 0-0.8 MPa range. Manual override is fitted so you can jog the output during wiring and commissioning, and the coil is sealed to IP65 (DIN 40050).

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| G (BSPP parallel) | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A short pulse of shop air clears chips from a fixture after each cycle. The G1/8 ports mate with the parallel-thread ports common on European machine blocks, and the 3.0 W DC24V coil keeps the machine's 24 V control supply unloaded even with the valve cycling constantly.
A single-acting swing clamp holds a bracket while a weld is made; when the coil drops out, the spring return vents the clamp line so the tooling opens by its own spring. Manual override lets the setter unclamp by hand during setup.
A 24 V DC panel with limited power budget uses the 3V106BG as the pilot that shifts a bigger diaphragm process valve. The direct-acting coil needs no minimum pressure to switch, and the IP65 coil housing suits the wash-down-adjacent skid environment.
3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in AirTAC's 3V line, so size in both directions before you commit. If your actuator needs more flow, step up to 3V2 (1/8 and 1/4 inch, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, and rated for vacuum) or to 3V3 (1/4 inch, Cv 0.62). If a dense valve pack matters more than flow, 3V2M is the manifold-first choice. AirTAC publishes no Cv for 3V1, so treat any flow-critical duty as a question to confirm with us on the datasheet. Before ordering, fix five points: port size (M5 or 1/8 inch), thread (PT is the standard on this family; G and NPT are catalogue options to order - this SKU is the G version), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug here, flying lead on the -I variant), and whether you want one valve or a multi-station manifold base. If you are driving a double-acting cylinder, that takes a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve, not this 3/2 body.
Confirm before you order
It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with 1/8-inch G (BSPP) parallel ports and a DC24V coil rated 3.0 W. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and the media temperature range is -20 to 70 C. The coil housing is IP65 (DIN 40050) and the air must be filtered to 40 um or finer; lubrication is not required. AirTAC publishes no flow coefficient (Cv) or effective area for the 3V1 series, so ask us to confirm flow before specifying it for a flow-critical job.
It controls one line - feeding it or venting it to exhaust - so it suits single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping and pilot duty for a larger valve. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder, which needs two lines and a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve. The G1/8 version is the right pick when your fittings and blocks use BSPP parallel threads with bonded seals rather than tapered PT. The DC24V coil draws only 3.0 W, which suits PLC-controlled panels, and this SKU connects through a DIN plug; if you need a pre-wired lead instead, order the -I flying-lead variant.
