The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106CIG is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106CIG is an individual 3/2-way solenoid valve configured with a 1/8-inch G (BSPP parallel) port, an AC110V coil drawing 4.5 VA, and a flying-lead electrical entry - the coil arrives with a pre-wired grommet lead-out of roughly 0.5 m, so there is no separate DIN plug to seat or lose. Being direct-acting with a single solenoid and spring return, it either feeds the outlet from supply or vents it to exhaust, which makes it a fit for single-acting cylinders, air-blow duties, clamping and pilot staging. Because the internal spool is moved directly by the coil, no minimum pressure is needed to shift it, and the full 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) range is usable. The coil housing is sealed to IP65 (DIN 40050) and a manual override is fitted for commissioning and fault-finding on the machine.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC110V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| G (BSPP parallel) | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Energise to press a single-acting clamp cylinder onto a machined part; the spring return vents the clamp when power drops, releasing the workpiece safely at the end of a cycle.
On a packaging filler, trigger a short pulse of compressed air through a nozzle to clear dust and liquid film from bottle necks before capping.
Use the low-draw 4.5 VA AC110V coil to switch a small pilot air line that actuates a bigger pneumatically operated process valve on a wash-down food line.
Start by confirming the five order-code points: port size (M5 or 1/8 inch), thread (G/BSPP on this SKU; PT is the family standard and NPT is a catalogue option to order), coil voltage (AC110V here), electrical entry (flying lead rather than DIN socket), and whether you need a single valve or a multi-station manifold assembly. Note that flow coefficient is not published for the 3V1 body, so if your duty is flow-critical, confirm suitability with us before ordering. The 3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in the 3V range, so size upward if your circuit demands more: the 3V2 steps up to 1/8 and 1/4 inch with NC or NO selectable function, Cv of 0.18-0.19 and a vacuum rating, while the 3V3 in 1/4 inch reaches Cv 0.62. If manifold density matters more than flow, the 3V2M is the better platform. For a double-acting cylinder you need a 5-port valve - use the AirTAC 4V series instead.
Confirm before you order
It is a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return 3/2 valve with a G1/8 (BSPP) port. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature is -20 to 70 C, and protection is IP65 (DIN 40050). Coil power by voltage: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA (this model), AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W. A flow coefficient (Cv) is not published for the 3V1 body - confirm flow-critical duties with us via RFQ.
The I entry code specifies a lead-out wire connection: the AC110V coil carries a pre-wired grommet lead of about 0.5 m, which is convenient in tight panels or where a plug-in connector would work loose under vibration. If you prefer a detachable DIN socket for faster coil replacement, order the plain 3V106C version instead. Either way, the valve drives single-acting cylinders, air-blow lines or pilot circuits - not double-acting cylinders, which require an AirTAC 4V 5-port valve.
