The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106A-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106A-AM is the 1/8in 3V1 valve ordered in its AC220V, DIN-plug form with the -AM option suffix. The suffix marks an AirTAC variant rather than a change to the core valve: it stays a direct-acting 3/2 unit with single solenoid and spring return, feeding or venting one line for single-acting cylinders, blow duty, clamps or pilot service. Ask us to confirm the exact scope of the -AM build when you send your enquiry.
Commissioning is helped by the fitted manual override, which lets you stroke the valve without power while setting up the machine. The 4.5 VA AC220V coil, IP65 (DIN 40050) housing, 0-0.8 MPa pressure window and -20 to 70 C media range, plus a 40 um filtration requirement with no lubrication needed, define the rest of the spec.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A spring-return ejector finger kicks mis-oriented cartons off a cartoner infeed; the 3V106A-AM pulses it out and the spring pulls it back.
On a leak-test bench, the valve routes one gauge line to vent between cycles so the transducer reads atmosphere at zero.
Workshop maintenance benches use the valve to switch a flexible blow gun line on a lockable panel, controlled from 220 V.
Match the -AM suffix carefully: order codes like this usually carry a factory option, and our team will confirm what the option covers before quoting. On flow, note that 3V1 - the smallest, lowest-power 3V body - has no published Cv; for more flow move up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62), and to 3V2M when a dense manifold matters more than flow. For double-acting cylinders, use the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.
Before you commit, confirm: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is standard, G and NPT are catalogue options), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead), and single valve versus a 1F-20F manifold station count.
Confirm before you order
Working pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); media temperature -20 to 70 C; ingress protection IP65 (DIN 40050). Coil power depends on the voltage ordered - AC220V and AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W - and this build is the 4.5 VA AC220V one. AirTAC states no Cv for 3V1, so confirm flow with us if it matters for your duty.
The suffix denotes an AirTAC option variant; the underlying valve remains a 3/2, spring-return unit that feeds or vents one line - right for single-acting cylinders, air blow and pilots, not for double-acting cylinders (that is a job for AirTAC 4V). For set-up, the manual override strokes the valve without electrical power, so you can prove the plumbing before wiring the 220 V coil.
