The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106A-X1 is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106A-X1 is the smallest body in the 3V1 family: a 3/2, direct-acting valve with one solenoid and a spring return. It has three ports - supply, outlet and exhaust - so it either feeds a single line or vents it, which makes it right for single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamps and piloting a larger valve. The AC220V coil draws just 4.5 VA. The -X1 ordering suffix is not part of the standard 3V1 code, so confirm its exact meaning on the datasheet or with us before ordering.
A manual override button lets you shift the valve during installation and commissioning, and the coil housing carries IP65 (DIN 40050) protection. Supply air should be filtered through a 40 um or finer element; no lubrication is required.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Feeds a small nozzle that pulses air across labels to clear dust and static before the print head, with the spring return venting the line between shots.
Actuates a single-acting swing clamp holding a sheet-metal part; de-energising the coil vents the clamp so its internal spring opens it.
Uses the 4.5 VA AC220V coil as a low-power pilot for a larger process valve on a water-treatment or compressor skid.
3V1 is the lowest-power, smallest-port body in AirTAC's 3V range and publishes no Cv, so for flow-critical duties confirm the sizing with us first. When you need more flow, step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, and rated for vacuum) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); choose 3V2M where a dense manifold matters more than flow. If the actuator is a double-acting cylinder, that needs a 5-port valve - go to the AirTAC 4V series. Before ordering, confirm five points: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on this family; G and NPT are order options), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead), and individual valve versus manifold station count.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); media temperature -20 to 70 C; coil power 4.5 VA on AC220V (the 3V1 family also runs AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W); protection IP65 (DIN 40050). No flow coefficient or effective area is published for 3V1 - confirm flow-critical duties with us.
It is a 3/2 valve: supply, outlet and exhaust, two states. It feeds or vents one line, so it runs single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow and clamping duties, and it can pilot a larger valve. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder - that requires a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve.
