The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106A4F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Four 3/2 valves, one footprint: the AirTAC 3V106A4F mounts four 3V1 sections in series on a manifold base, each a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with 1/8in PT ports. Two states per section - feed the outlet, or vent it - cover single-acting cylinders, clamps, air blow and pilot service.
At AC220V each coil takes only 4.5 VA, so a four-valve bank still presents a modest electrical load, and the IP65 (DIN 40050) coil housings cope with the -20 to 70 C temperature range of the body. A manual override on every section lets you cycle each output by hand during installation.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 4F | 4 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.

Hold lightweight optical or electronic parts in a test fixture with spring-return clamps, vented to a safe state on power loss.
Three things set this choice apart from its neighbours. First, flow: 3V1 has no published Cv, so the 3V2 (1/8in-1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62) are the upgrades when the outlet needs more air; the 3V2M is the alternative when manifold density, not flow, is the priority. Second, the bank itself: 4F means four sections in series on one base, and the family runs from 1F to 20F. Third, wiring: this code is AC220V (4.5 VA per coil) on a DIN plug; swap to the I code for flying leads, or to the B, C, E and F codes for DC24V, AC110V, AC24V and DC12V.
Confirm the 1/8in port with its PT thread (G and NPT are catalogue options to order), then send the RFQ. Double-acting cylinders are out of scope for a 3-port valve - the 5-port AirTAC 4V family is the correct destination.
Confirm before you order
The body works from 0 to 0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and -20 to 70 C. Every AC220V coil in the bank draws 4.5 VA (AC110V is also 4.5 VA; AC24V is 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W and DC12V 2.5 W on other variants) and meets IP65 (DIN 40050). Air must be filtered to 40 um or better. Note that no Cv or effective-area figure exists for 3V1.
A single solenoid with a spring return means the spool always comes back to its rest position when the AC220V coil de-energises, venting or holding the line as designed. Every 3V1 is supplied in one fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet before wiring, because the family has no NC/NO selectable code position. The manual override lets you test both states by hand during commissioning.
