The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106A8F-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106A8F-AM arrives as eight 3V1 valves already built in series on shared manifold bases. Each station is a 3/2, direct-acting, single-solenoid valve with spring return: energise its AC220V coil and the line is fed, drop power and the spring vents that line to exhaust - ideal for single-acting cylinders, clamps, blow nozzles and pilot signals.
Eight valves sharing one supply gallery and one set of screws means fewer fittings, fewer holes and less panel space than eight separate bodies. Coils draw just 4.5 VA and connect through standard DIN plug sockets, and a manual override on every station eases commissioning.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 8F | 8 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Eight stations pilot the clamp and blow valves around a rotary dial assembly machine, all switched from one 220 V control circuit.
Spring-return clamp cylinders on a carton erecting machine hold boxes square while glue cures, venting automatically when the coil drops out.
A bank of 3V1 stations pulses compressed air through nozzles to clear water from glass bottles ahead of the labelling head.
No Cv is published for the 3V1 body, so treat this eight-station block as a low-flow, lowest-power option in the AirTAC 3V range and check flow-critical duties with us first. When one line needs more capacity, move up to 3V2 (1/8in or 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); pick 3V2M when manifold density outranks flow. A double-acting cylinder calls for the 5-port AirTAC 4V series instead.
Before ordering, fix five points: port size (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on 3V1; G and NPT are catalogue options), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead) and the number of manifold stations from 1F to 20F.

Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature spans -20 to 70 C, and protection is IP65 (DIN 40050). The AC220V coil draws 4.5 VA; elsewhere in the family AC110V is 4.5 VA, AC24V is 5.0 VA, DC24V is 3.0 W and DC12V is 2.5 W. Air must be filtered to 40 um or finer, and no Cv is published for the 3V1 body.
Each 3/2 station either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, so it runs single-acting spring-return cylinders, clamps, blow lines and pilot signals. A double-acting cylinder needs two outlet ports, which means a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve, not this 3/2 body. A manual override on every valve helps during set-up.
