The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106AI4F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
In the 3V106AI4F, four 3V1 3/2 valves sit on one manifold string with a flying lead exiting every AC220V solenoid, so wiring lands on your terminal strip without buying separate DIN connectors. Each station is direct acting with spring return: coil on, line fed; coil off, line vented to exhaust.
The 4.5 VA coils keep transformer loading light even with all four energised, IP65 sealing (DIN 40050) protects the coil housing, and the manual override on each valve makes loop-checking a one-person job.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 4F | 4 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Four flying-lead stations drop straight into an older machine's terminal strip, replacing ageing valves without re-plumbing the air side.
Stations pulse air through a nozzle to clear chips from a machining envelope between cutting cycles.
A four-station block drives the spring-return grip cylinders on a workshop assembly jig, one valve per fixture position.
Four stations share one base in this assembly, yet each 3/2 valve remains the least power-hungry member of the 3V family - and the one with no published flow coefficient, so run flow-critical numbers past us. To gain capacity per line, upgrade to 3V2 (1/8in or 1/4in, Cv 0.18-0.19, NC or NO selectable, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); 3V2M wins when valve density, not flow, is the priority. Double-acting cylinder duty points to the AirTAC 4V series.
Five checks before you order: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT standard, G and NPT to order), coil voltage, DIN plug or flying-lead entry, and station count from 1F to 20F.
Confirm before you order
Expect 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) operating pressure, -20 to 70 C media temperature and IP65 (DIN 40050) sealing, on 40 um-filtered air. The AC220V coil is rated 4.5 VA, and the series continues with 4.5 VA on AC110V, 5.0 VA on AC24V, 3.0 W on DC24V and 2.5 W on DC12V. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for 3V1, so flow-critical sizing needs confirmation.
Its four 3/2 stations feed or vent single lines, so they suit single-acting spring-return cylinders, clamps, air blow nozzles and piloting larger valves. They cannot stroke a double-acting cylinder, which needs a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series. The body comes in one fixed initial state rather than an NC/NO choice, so confirm the state on the datasheet before wiring into a safety circuit.
