The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106B-AM1 is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Port and thread are where the 3V106B-AM1 starts: a 1/8in body with PT taper as the standard thread of the 3V1 family. Its 3/2 direct-acting spring-return action feeds or vents a single line, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping and pilot duty rather than double-acting work.
The DC24V coil takes just 3.0 W and reaches IP65 (DIN 40050), and the manual override makes first-time commissioning simple without powering the coil. The -AM1 suffix denotes a catalogue option on top of the base valve - verify its exact content on the datasheet before you commit. Genuine AirTAC, quoted through our RFQ form.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A single-acting gate cylinder needs only push-and-vent action; the PT1/8 ports suit the compact fittings used along conveyor framing.
Short blasts of shop air clear the paint-mixing nozzle between batches, timed by a control output and ended by the spring return.
A small spring-return positioner on a laboratory fixture cycles on a 24 V logic output, with the manual override helping during setup.
PT1/8 is the thread fitted as standard on this family; if your manifold blocks or fittings are G (BSPP parallel) or NPT, those are catalogue options you order by code, and the M5 port variant carries no separate thread at all. Flow is not published for 3V1, so for flow-critical circuits step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62), or pick 3V2M when manifold density is the priority.
Confirm the -AM1 suffix detail on the datasheet, then match: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread, coil voltage, DIN plug or flying-lead entry, and valve versus manifold stations. For double-acting actuators, specify the AirTAC 4V series.
Confirm before you order
Expect 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) working pressure, -20 to 70 C media, and filtration to 40 um or better. The DC24V coil uses 3.0 W and carries IP65 (DIN 40050) protection; the family also offers AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA and DC12V 2.5 W. Cv is not published for 3V1, and the -AM1 suffix option should be verified on the datasheet.
PT is the standard thread on the 3V1 family, so this PT1/8 valve suits the taper fittings most common on these listings. If your pipework is G (BSPP parallel) or NPT, order the matching thread code instead - G and NPT are catalogue options selected at ordering, not retrofits. The M5 port version carries no separate thread code at all.
