The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106B-NT is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106B-NT is a 3/2-way, direct-acting solenoid valve with a 1/8in NPT port - the American taper thread you order explicitly on this family, whose standard is PT. One coil feeds the outlet with air or vents it to exhaust, and a spring returns the valve the instant power drops, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping and pilot duty.
Its DC24V coil draws just 3.0 W, easy on PLC output cards, and the body is sealed to IP65 (DIN 40050). A manual override is fitted to help with setup and fault-finding. This is genuine AirTAC, quoted through AirtacDistr.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| NPT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Venting a single-acting air cylinder that kicks misprinted cartons off a food packaging conveyor the moment the coil drops out.
Feeding a spring-return swing clamp on a CNC drilling jig, with the exhaust port releasing clamp pressure automatically.
Sending a pilot signal to a larger pneumatic process valve on a small water dosing skid, switched from a 24 V panel.
The 3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in AirTAC's 3V range and publishes no Cv, so if flow decides the job, tell us the duty and we will check it against the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, and rated for vacuum) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62). Where a dense manifold beats raw flow, look at 3V2M. If your actuator is double-acting, that needs a 5-port valve - go to the AirTAC 4V series.
Before ordering this NPT version, match five points: port size (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the family standard; this code carries NPT, and G is also a catalogue option), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead), and individual valve versus manifold station count.
Confirm before you order
AirTAC rates this 3/2 valve for 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and -20 to 70 C, with IP65 (DIN 40050) protection. On DC24V the coil draws 3.0 W; across the family, AC220V and AC110V coils take 4.5 VA, AC24V takes 5.0 VA and DC12V takes 2.5 W. No Cv or effective-area figure is published for 3V1 - ask us to confirm flow against your duty.
It feeds or vents one line, so it is meant for single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, and piloting a larger valve. It cannot run a double-acting cylinder - that needs a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series.
