The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106B2F-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106B2F-AM is the two-station 3V1 assembly with a factory option suffix: a pair of direct-acting 3/2 valves on one series base, each single-solenoid and spring-return, each able to feed or vent its own line for single-acting actuators, clamps or pilot duty.
Standard 3V1 figures cover the hardware: DC24V coils at 3.0 W, IP65 (DIN 40050) protection and 1/8in PT ports. What the -AM tail adds is not defined in the public ordering code, so treat it as a question for our engineers rather than a guess.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 2F | 2 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Closes a single-acting cutting jaw on a wire-harness machine, then vents the line so the spring opens the jaw ready for the next cut.
Clamps each carton against a packing template on an e-commerce bench, one valve running the clamp and the second kept for a later expansion station.
Exhausts a small pneumatic lock cylinder when a machine guard opens, using the spring-return state so the line dumps even without coil power.
Treat this SKU as a standard 3V106B2F plus an open question. The base checklist stays the same: M5 or 1/8in port, thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order), DC24V coil, DIN plug entry, and the two-station count. Add one step - send us the full -AM code so we confirm the option against the AirTAC datasheet before you order. Flow needs checking too, since no Cv is published for 3V1.
If any circuit outgrows this body, the ladder goes up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62), with 3V2M for dense manifolding; double-acting cylinders belong on the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.
Confirm before you order
Expect 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), -20 to 70 C and air filtered to 40 um or finer. The two DC24V coils draw 3.0 W each under IP65 (DIN 40050) covers. Function: direct-acting 3/2, single solenoid, spring return. One gap: no Cv or effective area is published for 3V1, and the -AM option itself needs datasheet confirmation.
The -AM tail is not part of the standard 3V1 ordering code, so confirm its exact meaning with us against the AirTAC datasheet before ordering. The base code is clear though: DC24V coils seated in DIN plug sockets on a 2-station 1/8in PT base. A flying-lead version would carry an I after the voltage letter instead.
