The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106B7F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106B7F mounts seven complete 3/2 valves on one shared base, so a 1/8in PT port bank that would need seven separate bodies and seven sets of piping collapses into a single block. Each position is a direct-acting, single-solenoid unit with spring return: energise it and the outlet is fed, de-energise it and the spring vents the line. Like every 3V1, it is supplied in a single fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet before you design the panel logic.
The DC24V coils are the reason this body suits dense electronic panels: each draws just 3.0 W, and IP65 (DIN 40050) sealing protects the DIN plug entry in washdown-prone cabinets. Every valve also carries a manual override, so fixture set-up can be checked without power.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 7F | 7 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Seven single-acting clamp cylinders on an automotive spot-welding jig are each switched from one position of the 7F base, with spring return dropping every clamp when the cell powers down.
A short air blast between cycles clears chips from a Swiss lathe cutting zone; the direct-acting valve fires the jet on command and vents the nozzle line when the cycle ends.
The 3.0 W DC24V coil makes the valve an economical pilot: a PLC output switches it, and its outlet signal indexes a larger main valve further down the transfer line.
Flow is the open question on this body: AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1, so for anything flow-critical send us the duty and we will confirm the size. If a single 1/8in valve proves too small, step up to the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); where manifold density matters more than flow, the 3V2M is the alternative base. A double-acting cylinder needs a 5-port valve - that is the AirTAC 4V series, not this one.
Before ordering, match five points: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on this family; G and NPT are order options), coil voltage (here DC24V at 3.0 W), electrical entry (this code uses the DIN plug, not the flying-lead I option) and station count (this assembly is 7F).

It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with 1/8in PT ports. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, protection IP65 (DIN 40050). Coil power at the listed voltages: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W - this build uses DC24V. No flow coefficient (Cv) is published for the 3V1 series.
Seven valves share one base, one supply connection and one fixing job, which saves panel space and piping. Each position stays independently switchable, keeps its manual override, and runs on air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication needed.
