The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
3V106BI-AM is the -AM ordered variant of AirTAC's PT1/8, DC24V, flying-lead 3/2 valve. The suffix marks an option layered onto that base code, so include it exactly as written in your RFQ and we will return the datasheet page that defines it.
Functionally it is a direct-acting, single-solenoid 3/2 valve with spring return: energise the 3.0 W DC24V coil to feed the outlet, de-energise and the spring vents it. That one-line control suits single-acting cylinders, clamps, blow-off and pilot duty. The coil housing is IP65 (DIN 40050) and a manual override is fitted.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Clamps a workpiece in a milling fixture with a single-acting swing clamp, venting it automatically whenever the 3.0 W coil is de-energised.
On an assembly-line inflation bench it fills a tyre from the shop air ring and vents the chuck line between bikes so the next wheel seats cleanly.
Routes a purge-air line inside a benchtop gas analyzer, protecting the optical cell between measurement cycles on a 24 V supply.
Because 3V1 publishes no Cv, never size it by guesswork on a flow-limited line - send us the duty and we will check it from the datasheet. Need more capacity? Move up to 3V2 (1/8in or 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, rated for vacuum) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); where a compact manifold beats raw flow, compare 3V2M. Fix five points before ordering: port M5 or 1/8in; thread (PT standard on this family, G and NPT to order); coil voltage; entry style - DIN plug or flying lead, and this code is flying lead; and single valve or a manifold station count. Double-acting cylinders belong on the 5-port AirTAC 4V series, not here.

Pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; IP65 (DIN 40050); coil power by voltage - AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W, with this SKU on the 3.0 W DC24V coil. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1 body, so route any flow question through us.
The base code 3V106BI already fixes the port (PT1/8), the coil (DC24V, 3.0 W) and the entry (flying lead). -AM is an ordering variant added on top of that base, and the option it carries is not spelled out on the standard catalogue page - confirm it with us by RFQ before you commit to the order.
