The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI17F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Seventeen 3V1 valve positions on a single common base make the 3V106BI17F one of the densest assemblies in this range, close to the 20-station maximum AirTAC builds. Each PT1/8-ported valve is direct-acting with a single solenoid and spring return: coil on feeds the line, coil off vents it. That feed-or-vent action serves single-acting cylinders, air jets, clamps and pilot signals.
Every DC24V coil consumes just 3.0 W, so even a 17-station block stays easy on power-supply sizing, and IP65 (DIN 40050) construction shields the coils from dust and water jets inside the panel. Filter the air supply to 40 um or finer; lubrication is not required.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 17F | 17 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Acts as a compact pneumatic output block on a cartoning machine, seventeen feed-and-vent points served from one common base and one air supply.
Switches air to a single-acting gripper pad on a SCARA pick cell, exhausting it so the spring closes the fingers between picks.
Pilots the air cylinder that locks a curtainsider roller door at the loading dock, releasing it only while the dock leveller is in position.
Check flow before committing: AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1 body, so anything flow-critical should be verified with us. To move more air, choose 3V2 (1/8 or 1/4 ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4 port, Cv 0.62); pick 3V2M when manifold density beats flow; and remember a double-acting cylinder requires the 5-port 4V series, never this 3/2 valve.
Before you order, lock down: port size (M5 or 1/8); thread (PT is the standard on 3V1, with G and NPT as order options); coil voltage; electrical entry, DIN plug or flying lead; and the manifold station count you need, anywhere from 1 to 20.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; coil power DC24V 3.0 W (elsewhere in 3V1: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC12V 2.5 W); protection IP65 (DIN 40050); 17 stations with PT1/8 ports; direct-acting spring return; 40 um filtration. Cv is not published for 3V1 - send us the duty and we will check it.
No. A 3/2 valve has three ports and two states - it either feeds the outlet or vents it - so it handles single-acting spring-return cylinders, air blow, clamping and pilot duty. A double-acting cylinder needs pressure and exhaust on two lines, which is the job of a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series. 3V1 comes in a single fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet.
