The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI2F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106BI2F puts two independently switched 3/2 stations on one small manifold fed by a single air connection - a neat way to handle paired actions such as clamp plus eject, or feed plus vent, without plumbing two separate valves. Both positions are direct-acting with a single solenoid and spring return: the outlet is either pressurised or exhausted.
This SKU pairs the DC24V coil (3.0 W, the lowest draw in the 3V1 range) with flying-lead wiring, so the coils connect to your terminals without a DIN plug. Coils are protected to IP65 (DIN 40050), the supplied initial state is fixed - confirm it on the datasheet - and each station has a manual override so you can prove the plumbing before energising anything.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 2F | 2 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A small drilling jig first clamps the workpiece, then a blow nozzle clears swarf from the hole; the two 3/2 stations alternate between clamping and blow-off on the cycle.
A CNC fixture holds a part with one spring-return clamp while a second station vents the part-present sensing line when the door opens, both run from the same manifold feed.
A dough depositor opens its hopper gate and, on the same island, a second station switches a small cutter cylinder, giving two synchronised actions from one air inlet.
Sizing starts from an honest gap: 3V1 carries no published Cv or effective-area value, so for paired outputs where flow matters, let us check the duty against 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum-rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62). Where the goal is a tight island rather than flow, 3V2M is the purpose-built alternative. Confirm five things before you order: the 1/8in port in PT (G or NPT available as order options), the DC24V voltage, flying-lead entry, the 2F two-station assembly, and air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication. To reverse a double-acting cylinder you need 5 ports - the AirTAC 4V series covers that job.

Working pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; IP65 (DIN 40050) coil protection; DC24V coils at 3.0 W each. For reference across 3V1: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC12V 2.5 W. AirTAC does not publish a Cv or effective area for 3V1, so check flow-critical duties with us.
The two stations share one manifold air inlet, one mounting and much of the plumbing, while each keeps its own flying-lead DC24V coil and switches independently. Ports are PT1/8 on this family; G and NPT threads exist as catalogue options to order.
