The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI5F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
3V106BI5F packs five 3/2 direct-acting valves into a single five-station 3V1 manifold on a 1/8 in PT base. Each coil runs DC24V at 3.0 W and leaves the block as a flying lead, so the whole assembly wires with flexible leads rather than plug-in connectors. Spring return means every station reverts to its rest state as soon as power is removed.
Because a 3/2 valve has three ports and two states, each of the five stations either feeds its line or vents it to exhaust - the pattern behind single-acting cylinders, clamps, blow and pilot duty. Coil housings are IP65 (DIN 40050), a manual override aids commissioning, and the air supply needs only 40 um filtration. Each valve is supplied in a single fixed initial state - check it on the datasheet.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 5F | 5 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Five kick cylinders divert cartons between lanes on a packaging line, each one a single-acting unit fed and vented by its own station.
Five swing clamps on a weld fixture share one PT1/8 manifold; the spring return drops every clamp safely when the DC24V coil de-energises.
Small single-acting lift cylinders on a high-cycle pick station cycle on 3.0 W coils, with no pilot air needed to reset them.
Since AirTAC lists no flow coefficient for 3V1, flow-sensitive applications should be checked against the duty before ordering. To gain capacity, move up to 3V2 - 1/8 in and 1/4 in ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated - or to 3V3, a 1/4 in body with Cv 0.62. Where manifold density beats flow, 3V2M is the body designed for it. A double-acting cylinder sits outside a 3-port valve's reach, so route that requirement to the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.
Five details fix the order: M5 or 1/8 in port; PT thread (the family standard) with G and NPT as order options; coil voltage; DIN plug versus flying-lead entry; and whether you want an individual valve or a multi-station manifold of up to 20 stations.

The assembly works from 0 to 0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) across -20 to 70 C, with IP65 (DIN 40050) coils. Power draw by voltage option: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W - each of the five stations here carries the 3.0 W DC24V coil. No flow coefficient or effective area exists in the 3V1 catalogue data, so ask us for flow-critical sizing.
Yes. The 3V1 code structure offers five voltages (A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V), DIN plug or flying-lead entry, and manifolds from 1F to 20F. The 1/8 in port comes with PT thread as standard, while G (BSPP parallel) and NPT are catalogue options you order in the code. Tell us the segments you need and we will quote the matching assembly.
