The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106C-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106C-AM is a 3/2-way, direct-acting solenoid valve with a single AC110V coil drawing 4.5 VA and a spring return that resets the valve when power drops. It alternately feeds and vents one line, so it drives single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping and pilot duty on larger valves. The valve is supplied in a single fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet.
The 06 body gives a 1/8 PT port (PT is the standard thread on this family; G and NPT are catalogue options to order), and the coil connects through a DIN plug. It works on air filtered to 40 um or finer at 0-0.8 MPa and -20 to 70 C, carries an IP65 (DIN 40050) rating, and a manual override helps during installation and commissioning.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC110V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Pulses a pinpoint jet that clears aluminium chips from a lathe tool post between cutting cycles; the manual override proves the jet during setup.
Switches the pilot air to a larger pneumatic actuator on a dosing or filtration skid, where the 4.5 VA AC110V coil keeps control wiring light.
Pressurises the spring-return clamp cylinder of a machining jig and vents it the moment the coil de-energises, so the jig never holds after a power loss.
At 1/8 with an AC110V 4.5 VA coil, this is the smallest, lowest-power body in the AirTAC 3V range - but it has no published Cv, so confirm any flow-critical duty with us first. Need more flow? Step up to the 3V2 (1/8 and 1/4, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4, Cv 0.62); where a dense manifold matters more than flow, look at 3V2M. Double-acting cylinders need a 5-port valve - send those enquiries to the AirTAC 4V series.
Before ordering, match five points: port (M5 or 1/8), thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead), and individual valve versus manifold station count.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); media temperature -20 to 70 C; protection IP65 (DIN 40050); coil power 4.5 VA at AC110V (family figures: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W). No flow coefficient (Cv) is published for the 3V1 body, so confirm any flow-critical duty with the datasheet or an RFQ.
No. A 3/2 valve has three ports - supply, outlet and exhaust - and two states: it either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust. That pattern suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping and piloting a larger valve, but a double-acting cylinder needs a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series. Air must be filtered to 40 um or finer; lubrication is not required.
