The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106CI is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
3V106CI is an AirTAC 3V1 body solenoid valve in the 1/8in port size, fitted with an AC110V coil drawing 4.5 VA and supplied with pre-wired flying leads instead of a DIN socket. As a direct-acting 3/2-way valve it switches a single line between feed and exhaust: one state supplies the outlet, the other vents it, and the spring return gives a defined de-energised position without a second coil.
That single-line switching suits spring-return cylinders, clamps, on-off air blow and pilot duty on larger process valves. The 4.5 VA coil keeps control-cabinet load low, and the lead-out wiring speeds connection where a plug-in connector is awkward. A manual override is fitted to help set-up and commissioning.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC110V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Feeds and vents a small single-acting eject cylinder on a pharmaceutical blister packing line, with the AC110V coil wired straight into the machine control panel.
Supplies a pilot signal to a larger pneumatic process valve controlling rinse flow, with the spring return venting the pilot line whenever power is lost.
Switches a short blast of shop air that clears dust from a filling nozzle between cycles, at the low 4.5 VA draw an AC110V control circuit expects.
Start from the port and the duty. 3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in the AirTAC 3V range, but no Cv is published for it, so if your duty is flow-critical, confirm sizing with us before ordering. When more flow is needed, step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); 3V2M is the better pick when dense manifold mounting matters more than flow.
Before you buy 3V106CI, match five points: 1/8in port with PT thread (G or NPT are catalogue options to order), the AC110V coil, the flying-lead entry, and whether you want this individual valve or a 1F-20F manifold assembly. If you must drive a double-acting cylinder, move to the AirTAC 4V series.
Confirm before you order
It is a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return 3/2 valve in a PT1/8in port size. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), medium temperature -20 to 70 C, protection IP65 to DIN 40050. The AC110V coil draws 4.5 VA and the connection is a flying lead. Air must be filtered to 40 um or finer. No flow coefficient (Cv) or effective area is published for the 3V1 body - ask us to confirm flow data if it matters to your duty.
Yes for single-acting, spring-return cylinders, clamps, air blow and pilot duty - a 3/2 valve either feeds the outlet or vents it. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder, which needs simultaneous feed and exhaust paths; use the AirTAC 4V series there. Note also that the 3V1 range carries no published vacuum rating, so do not specify it for negative-pressure work.
