The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106F-AM1 is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Order the AirTAC 3V106F-AM1 when you need AirTAC's smallest 3/2 body on a 12V control system: a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve whose 1/8in PT port feeds or vents one line at a time. The DC12V coil takes just 2.5 W, an easy load for 12V PLC outputs and battery-backed circuits, and it connects through a DIN plug.
The -AM1 suffix marks a catalogue variant of the standard 3V106F, so confirm its exact scope on the datasheet or with your RFQ before committing the order. Around that variant the basics hold: IP65 protection to DIN 40050, a manual override for commissioning, and air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication needed.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A short pulse from a 12V PLC output fires a puff of air through the valve to push a finished bushing off its mandrel; the spring return vents the line between cycles.
At 2.5 W the coil can sit close to low-power control cards in a cabinet, feeding or venting pilot lines to larger process valves without extra relays.
The valve opens a brief air jet over freshly printed labels; its small 1/8in PT port matches the low air volume a cooling puff needs.
Order this code when all five match points are fixed: 1/8in port, PT thread as standard on the family (G and NPT are order options), DC12V coil, DIN plug entry, and a single valve rather than a manifold station. The -AM1 suffix flags a catalogue variant, so have us confirm its exact scope on the datasheet before you commit a purchase order. Because AirTAC publishes no Cv for the 3V1, quote us the duty if flow matters.
If 3V1 comes up short, the 3V2 offers 1/8in and 1/4in ports with NC/NO selectability, Cv 0.18-0.19 and a vacuum rating, while the 3V3 in 1/4in reaches Cv 0.62. For tight manifolds where flow is secondary, weigh the 3V2M. Double-acting cylinders are the territory of the 5-port AirTAC 4V series, never this 3/2 valve.
Confirm before you order
Pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); medium temperature -20 to 70 C; DC12V coil power 2.5 W; protection IP65 per DIN 40050; air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication needed; 3/2 direct-acting with spring return on a 1/8in PT port. Cv and effective area are not published for the 3V1 - send us the duty if flow is critical, and have the -AM1 suffix confirmed on the datasheet.
A DIN plug lets you unplug the coil from the valve body, which speeds replacement on machines that are serviced in place; the same valve with a pre-wired lead-out instead carries an I in its code. At 2.5 W, the DC12V coil is gentle on limited control supplies such as 12V PLC or battery-backed circuits. For double-acting cylinders you still need a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve - this 3/2 body feeds or vents a single line only.
