The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106F4F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Four independent 3/2 direct-acting valves share a single 1/8in PT base in the 3V106F4F. Each station feeds or vents its own line, so one assembly can run a single-acting cylinder, a clamp, a blow nozzle and a pilot stage from the same compact footprint. Spring return makes every station fail back to its rest state when the 12 V signal drops.
The DC12V coils draw 2.5 W apiece - four of them still sit lightly on a vehicle or cabinet 12 V rail. IP65 (DIN 40050) coil housings shrug off washdown-side dust and splashes, the manual override on each station lets you jog the machine by hand during commissioning, and DIN plugs keep the harness serviceable. Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 4F | 4 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Four fixtures on one welding jig each get a dedicated valve; every spring-return clamp cylinder vents automatically whenever the 12 V control rail drops.
Vehicle-grade 12 V wiring pairs naturally with the 2.5 W coils, and the DIN plugs allow the whole harness to be unplugged when the trailer is parked up.
A single-acting dwell cylinder on a labelling head is pressed and released each cycle, with the manual override used to index the machine by hand at set-up.
Before ordering, lock down five choices on the 3V106F4F: the port (M5 or 1/8in), the thread (PT is the standard on this family, while G and NPT are order options), the coil voltage, the electrical entry (DIN plug here, flying lead on the I-suffix codes), and the station count, which runs from 1F to 20F across the range. There is no published Cv for the 3V1 body, so flow-critical sizing needs our confirmation. For higher flow per circuit, compare the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) and the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); for the densest manifold layout, 3V2M wins. Double-acting cylinders are a 5-port AirTAC 4V job.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, DC12V coil power 2.5 W per station, protection IP65 (DIN 40050), air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication required. AirTAC states no Cv or effective-area figure for the 3V1, so flow-dependent choices should be confirmed with us.
Yes in principle - the 3V1 manifold concept runs from 1F to 20F, so assemblies of up to 20 valves can share one series base, and 4F is simply one step on that ladder. Supporting hardware includes the 3V1-P30 connecting-screw base set, the 3V1-P31 O-ring and long-screw kit and the 3V1-P32 mounting brackets.
