The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106F5F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106F5F carries five direct-acting 3/2 valves on a single PT1/8 base, consolidating five control circuits into one manifold that mounts and plumbs as a unit. Each valve does one simple job - pressurise its outlet, or dump that line to exhaust - which is exactly what single-acting cylinders, clamps, nozzles and pilot stages need.
At 2.5 W per DC12V coil, five stations still present only a light load on a 12 V supply, and the spring-return design sends every line to its rest state whenever power is lost. Coils meet IP65 (DIN 40050), each station has a manual override for dry commissioning, and DIN plug connections keep replacement quick.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 5F | 5 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Five spring-return diverter gates along a sortation line are each fed and vented by one valve station, all falling open when the 12 V control signal stops.
Selected stations act as low-power pilots that snap larger spring-return process valve actuators open and closed from a 12 V loop.
A five-point modular fixture uses one manifold station per clamp point; each single-acting clamp releases the moment its coil is de-energised.
Five stations is where the 3V1 manifold idea earns its keep, but it is still worth sizing against the rest of the range: the 3V2 offers 1/8in and 1/4in ports with NC or NO selectability, Cv 0.18-0.19 and a vacuum rating, the 3V3 gives 1/4in ports at Cv 0.62, and the 3V2M is built for maximum manifold density. Because AirTAC publishes no Cv for the 3V1, confirm any flow-sensitive duty with us. Your five-point check for the 3V106F5F: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the family default; G and NPT are ordered options), coil voltage, entry (DIN plug or flying lead) and station count. For double-acting actuators, move to the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, DC12V coil power 2.5 W per valve, protection IP65 (DIN 40050), air filtered through a 40 um or finer element, lubrication not required. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1 body, so verify flow requirements with us.
Each of the five valves has three ports (supply, outlet, exhaust) and two positions: it either pressurises its outlet or vents that line to exhaust. That behaviour fits single-acting spring-return cylinders, clamps, air-blow nozzles and piloting larger valves. It will not run a double-acting cylinder, which needs pressure and exhaust managed in both directions - use the 5-port AirTAC 4V series for that.
