The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106FI is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106FI is the DC12V, flying-lead version of the smallest 3V1 valve: a 3/2-way, direct-acting unit with a single solenoid and spring return. It either feeds or vents one line, which makes it the natural switch for single-acting cylinders, air blow-off, clamps or a pilot signal to a larger valve. The PT1/8 port keeps the plumbing compact, and the 2.5 W coil suits battery-backed and low-power 12 V controls.
Instead of a DIN socket, this entry carries pre-attached lead-out wires, so the coil wires straight into your 12 V cabinet or harness. The coil is protected to IP65 (DIN 40050) and a manual override is fitted for set-up and fault finding. Air is the only medium; filter it to 40 um or finer and no lubrication is needed.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A DC12V coil runs straight from a vehicle battery, switching the air chuck or clamp line on mobile maintenance rigs without an inverter in the circuit.
QC benches built around 12 V logic use the valve to feed or vent the test line acting on a single spring-return cylinder, one part at a time.
The flying lead solders directly into legacy 12 V control cabinets, so older textile or packaging machines gain automatic blow-off without any DIN-rail rewiring.
3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in AirTAC's 3V range, and it publishes no Cv or effective area, so if your circuit lives or dies on flow, tell us the duty and we will confirm suitability before you order. When 1/8in is simply too small, step up to the 3V2 series (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19 and rated for vacuum) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); choose 3V2M where manifold density matters more than flow. Driving a double-acting cylinder is a job for the 5-port AirTAC 4V series, not this 3/2 valve.
Before ordering, match five points: port size (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on this family; G and NPT are options to order), coil voltage (here DC12V at 2.5 W), electrical entry (flying lead on this SKU, DIN plug elsewhere), and whether you need an individual valve or a multi-station manifold.
Confirm before you order
Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, and the protection class IP65 (DIN 40050). The DC12V coil of this SKU draws 2.5 W; across the family AC220V and AC110V coils are 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA and DC24V 3.0 W. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for 3V1, so flow figures must be confirmed case by case.
As a 3/2 valve it pressurises or exhausts a single outlet, so it suits spring-return single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping and pilot duty on larger valves. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder - that requires a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series.
