The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5A5F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V1M5A5F packs five independently switched 3/2 circuits into the smallest body AirTAC makes. Every station is direct-acting with a spring return and a 4.5 VA AC220V coil plugged into its DIN socket, so a five-valve bank adds only 22.5 VA of load at full duty - small enough for compact control cabinets. Each valve handles the classic 3/2 jobs: feed a single-acting cylinder, pulse an air jet, clamp a part, or pilot a larger valve.
The five stations sit on one common M5 manifold base, which keeps the air inlet shared and the wiring footprint tight. Air must be filtered to 40 um or finer; no lubricator is needed. Genuine AirTAC product with full datasheet support from AirtacDistr.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 5F | 5 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Actuates five spring-return hold-down clamps on an in-circuit test fixture, one valve position per clamp.
Fires short pulsed air blasts that clear swarf from a micro-milling fixture between cutting passes.
Feeds a single-acting gripper on a small pick-and-place robot, where the 4.5 VA coil keeps frequent switching cheap on power.
Because AirTAC publishes no Cv for 3V1, treat flow as unknown until confirmed - send us the duty and we will check it, or step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, Cv 0.18-0.19, NC or NO selectable, vacuum capable) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62) when more air is needed. 3V2M suits builds where manifold density beats flow. This code is a five-station M5 manifold, AC220V, DIN plug entry.
Confirm five items when ordering: port size (M5 or 1/8in), thread on 1/8in variants (PT is standard; G and NPT are catalogue options), voltage, entry style (DIN socket or lead-out wire), and how many stations the manifold needs. A double-acting cylinder calls for the 5-port 4V series, not this 3/2 valve.

Pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; AC220V coil 4.5 VA (elsewhere in the 3V1 range: 4.5 VA on AC110V, 5.0 VA on AC24V, 3.0 W on DC24V, 2.5 W on DC12V); IP65 protection to DIN 40050. There is no published Cv for 3V1, so flow must be checked case by case. Use clean air filtered to 40 um or better; no lubricator is required.
The A is the voltage code for AC220V, drawing 4.5 VA per coil; other codes are B (DC24V, 3.0 W), C (AC110V, 4.5 VA), E (AC24V, 5.0 VA) and F (DC12V, 2.5 W). This SKU uses DIN plug entry: the coil sits in a socket and connects through a plug connector, so wiring changes are straightforward. A flying-lead (I-code) version can be ordered if pre-wired leads suit your machine better.
