The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5AI9F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Nine valves, one base: the 3V1M5AI9F packs nine M5 direct-acting 3/2 stations into a single AC220V assembly, each valve a spring-return unit that either pressurises its outlet or dumps it to exhaust. Confirm the fixed initial state on the datasheet before wiring interlocks around it.
The block replaces nine separate bodies and nine thread joints with one integrated series mounting, and every coil is a 4.5 VA AC220V type wired through pre-fitted flying leads. A manual override on each station lets any single output be trialled during set-up, and the family supports series integration of up to 20 stations.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 9F | 9 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A nine-station 3V1 bank delivers the actuation signals behind a wafer-handling fixture, where compact M5 ports and IP65-rated coils sit tight against the machine frame.
Along a small parcel sorter, each station vents or feeds one spring-return gate in turn, and the shared base keeps all nine AC220V coils on a single wiring run.
A rinsing station fires nine short blow pulses through M5 nozzles, each pulsed by its own valve and jogged by hand from the panel during calibration.
A 9-station block suits control panels where port count matters more than flow; note that 3V1 carries no published Cv or effective area, so confirm anything flow-critical with us. Should a station need more air, 3V2 (1/8 and 1/4 ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum capable) or 3V3 (1/4 port, Cv 0.62) are the step-up bodies, while 3V2M wins when manifold density is the priority. A double-acting cylinder calls for the 5-port 4V series instead.
Confirm five things when ordering: port (M5 versus 1/8), thread on 1/8 variants (PT is the standard specification; G and NPT are catalogue options to order), coil voltage, electrical entry (this SKU uses flying leads), and station count (here 9F, available as 1F to 20F).

Nine direct-acting 3/2 M5 stations on one base. Working pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; each AC220V coil 4.5 VA (family alternatives: AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W); IP65 (DIN 40050); 40 um or finer filtered air; spring return with manual override. No Cv or effective area is published for 3V1 - confirm with our team for flow-critical lines.
No - the valves unmount from the shared base, so one station can be swapped without disturbing the other eight, using the 3V1-P30 connecting-screw base set or the 3V1-P31 O-ring and long screw kit. Series integration runs from 1F to 20F, so the bank can also be extended later.
