The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5B6F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V1M5B6F bundles six AirTAC 3V1 valve positions onto a single manifold, so one M5 supply line replaces six individually plumbed valves. Each 3/2 position is direct-acting with spring return and carries a 3.0 W DC24V coil under a DIN plug.
The working range is 0-0.8 MPa with a -20 to 70 C fluid and ambient window, and the coil housings are rated IP65 (DIN 40050). Every station feeds its own line or vents it to exhaust, which is exactly what small single-acting actuators and pilot circuits need.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 6F | 6 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A station gates a small single-acting cylinder that indexes screws into the feed track of an assembly cell, dropping each fastener only when the cycle calls for it.
In a lab automation line, individual stations drive spring-return rams that press stoppers onto sample vials, one lane per station, all fed from one M5 supply.
A timed burst of shop air clears dust from a camera lens before each inspection shot, vented safely to exhaust through the spring-return 3/2 position.
Because AirTAC publishes no Cv for 3V1, treat this as a small-port, low-power valve and confirm any flow-sensitive duty with us. When M5 flow is not enough, move up to 3V2, which adds 1/8in and 1/4in ports, an NC/NO choice, Cv 0.18-0.19 and a vacuum rating, or to the 1/4in 3V3 at Cv 0.62. For the tightest manifold packing, 3V2M trades flow for density. A double-acting cylinder calls for a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve instead.
Your five checks: port size (M5 here, with no thread variant at this size), coil voltage (DC24V on this SKU), electrical entry (DIN plug), station count (six on this assembly), and the mounting arrangement. Base sets 3V1-P30, the 3V1-P31 O-ring and screw kit and the 3V1-P32 bracket set are the matching accessories.

Pressure range 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), temperature -20 to 70 C, IP65 (DIN 40050) coils. Coil ratings across the family: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W; this assembly runs the 3.0 W DC24V coil. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for 3V1, so confirm flow-critical duties with us.
One shared M5 base replaces six individual bodies, cutting fittings, tubing and panel drilling, and AirTAC builds the 3V1 family as 1 to 20 stations in series. Each position still keeps its own 3.0 W DC24V DIN-plug coil and manual override, and spring return vents the line whenever the coil drops out.
