The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5B9F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V1M5B9F is a nine-station manifold assembly of 3/2 direct-acting solenoid valves on M5 ports. Each valve feeds or vents a single line, so the bank drives single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping or pilot stages. The spring return gives a defined state whenever a coil de-energises, and the valve is supplied in a single fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet.
The DC24V coils draw only 3.0 W each and carry an IP65 (DIN 40050) rating, so a full nine-valve block stays gentle on a small power supply. The M5 ports suit dense internal plumbing, and each valve accepts a manual override for commissioning.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 9F | 9 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Nine valves on one shared manifold fire the single-acting clamp cylinders of a carton-sealing machine, with one DIN connection point serving the whole block.
The DIN plug seats on the socket wired from the machine's output card, so each 3.0 W DC24V coil switches a fill-gate or puff-air line directly.
A spring-return 3/2 valve feeds the clamp on a spot-welding fixture and vents it when de-energised, letting the fixture relax between weld cycles.
Within the 3V family the 3V1 body is the smallest and lowest-power option, so check flow before you commit: no Cv or effective area is published for 3V1, and flow-critical duties should be confirmed with us. When the M5 port or a station limit is too tight, step up to the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); if a dense manifold matters more than flow, 3V2M is the purpose-built choice.
Before ordering, match five points: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on 1/8in bodies, with G and NPT as order options; M5 carries no separate thread code), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug or flying lead) and whether you need an individual valve or a manifold station count. A double-acting cylinder needs the 5-port AirTAC 4V series instead.

Operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, IP65 coils (DIN 40050), direct-acting 3/2 spring return. Coil power: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W (this model) and DC12V 2.5 W. No Cv or effective area is published for 3V1, so confirm flow requirements with us.
Nine 3/2 valves integrated in series on one manifold base - the 3V1 range supports 1 to 20 stations, which saves panel space compared with nine separate bodies and fittings. Bases and sealing sets such as 3V1-P30 and 3V1-P31 are the matching accessories, and the manual override on each valve helps commissioning.
