The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5BI12F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V1M5BI12F gathers twelve 3/2 direct-acting spring-return valves onto a single manifold base with M5 ports, each coil wired by flying lead. That turns twelve separate bodies and their fittings into one block, freeing panel space, and lets each station feed or vent its own line - single-acting cylinders, blow jets, clamps or pilot stages.
Every DC24V coil draws 3.0 W and meets IP65 (DIN 40050), so a compact 24 V supply can run the whole assembly; flying leads suit stations that switch on individual control signals. A manual override on each valve simplifies sequencing checks during commissioning.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 12F | 12 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Twelve single-acting clamps around a machining-centre fixture are sequenced from one M5 manifold block, each 3.0 W coil switched by its own output.
A sorting line's diverter gates, each a spring-return single-acting ram, are driven valve-by-valve from the twelve-station assembly as parcels are routed.
Pulsed air jets above a machining station clear chips between cycles, with the manifold block keeping twelve jet valves in one replaceable unit.
A twelve-station block solves panel space, not flow: 3V1 is the smallest 3V body and no Cv or effective area is published for it, so verify any flow-critical duty with us. Where a station needs more flow, or an initial state selectable between NC and NO, assign that duty to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); where density outranks flow, 3V2M is the manifold-focused alternative.
Five points to lock down at order time: M5 or 1/8in port; thread (PT is standard on 1/8in, with G and NPT as order options; M5 takes no thread code); coil voltage; DIN plug or flying lead; and the station count, which runs from 1F to 20F. Double-acting cylinders require the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.
Confirm before you order
Each valve is a 3/2 direct-acting spring-return unit for 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and -20 to 70 C, with IP65 (DIN 40050) coils. Plan the supply around DC24V at 3.0 W per coil; other windings run 4.5 VA (AC220V), 4.5 VA (AC110V), 5.0 VA (AC24V) and 2.5 W (DC12V). AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for 3V1, so confirm flow needs before committing a station count.
Each pre-wired lead-out can run to its own control point, which suits a block whose stations switch independently, whereas the DIN-plug version (code without the I) would seat each coil on a shared socket style. The 3V1 manifold accepts 1 to 20 stations, so twelve sits mid-range, and every DC24V coil draws only 3.0 W.
