About the Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5F6F
The 3V1M5F6F is aimed at battery-powered and low-voltage machines: six 3/2 valves on one M5 manifold, each with a DC12V coil of just 2.5 W that plugs into a DIN socket. Being direct acting with spring return, every valve simply feeds its outlet line or vents it, driving single-acting cylinders, clamps, air jets or a larger pilot valve. The body is protected to IP65 (DIN 40050) against dust and water jets.
Each of the six stations has a manual override for fast commissioning. Supply air should pass a 40 um or finer filter. The valve comes in a single fixed initial state - confirm which on the datasheet.

What a 3/2 Valve Does
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
