About the Airtac 3V2 Solenoid Valve 3V208NOF
Running from a 12 V battery or a low-voltage control rail, the 3V208NOF lets you switch a 1/4in pneumatic line with the same DC12V supply that powers the vehicle or machine, avoiding a separate 24 V or mains feed. It connects through a DIN plug on top of the coil.
The valve is normally open: supply flows to the outlet until the 7.0 W DC coil is energised, then the spring-return poppet closes it and the outlet vents. What a 3/2 Valve Does
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.

Trailer door-lock actuator
Supplied from the truck's 12 V battery via the DIN plug, the normally open valve feeds a single-acting door-lock cylinder during transit and vents it when the driver energises the coil at the dock.
Seeder meter air purge
On a pneumatic seed drill, the valve opens a purge jet across the seed meter at rest; energising the 7.0 W DC12V coil stops the purge so seed is not blown clear of the row.
Bench vacuum fixture switch
A small workshop vacuum clamp fixture uses this valve to open and close suction to the cups; since it works from 0 MPa, it also holds when the pump has drawn the line down to vacuum.

Order by checklist: 1/4in port with PT thread as standard (G and NPT catalogue options), normally open, DC12V coil, DIN plug entry, and any vacuum requirement. Compare before committing: the 3V1 suits light duties at 3.0 W on DC24V, the 3V2M suits tight manifold layouts at the cost of flow (Cv 0.1), and the 3V3 - also vacuum rated - moves to Cv 0.62 when 0.19 is not enough. Keep in mind the 1/8in-to-1/4in step barely lifts Cv, so jumping sizes only really pays off at 3V3. If your actuator is double-acting, you need the 5-port AirTAC 4V series instead.
