About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X40B
This is a double acting, double-rod compact cylinder: a piston rod exits BOTH covers of the 40 mm bore body, so the 40 mm stroke delivers the same 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa (800.5 N at 0.7 MPa) whether it pushes or pulls. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the back-end rod can carry a sensor flag. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, and the male rod thread (the B code) bolts straight to tooling. Note this model is DISCONTINUED; the current-production replacement is the ACED40X40.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs, guards and gantries. At 0.5 MPa plan for roughly 343 N (about 35 kg) of real work rather than the full 571.8 N rating, which means it lifts about 17 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
