This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED63X65S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED63X65S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD63X65S is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 65mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED63X65S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, so the 63 mm bore delivers the same 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa (2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa) on every stroke - the through-rod sees rod-side area on both faces. The 65 mm stroke body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight press fixtures and gantry frames. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end and the through-rod resists rotation and side load while giving a symmetric mount for jigs.
This exact model is discontinued: swap the P for an E and order ACED63X65, the current-production drop-in of the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap because the ACP was built to the DIN standard. The S in the code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be bolted on for end-position sensing. Plan real work at about 875 N, which is roughly 89 kg of safe vertical load at 0.5 MPa; the unit runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s with a 1/8" PT port and an M10x1.5 female rod thread.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED63X65S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1458 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 2041 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 297 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×65 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The equal 1458.1 N output in both directions lets one cylinder press a bushing home on the forward stroke and eject the finished part on the return, with the back-end rod carrying a sensor flag.
A short 65 mm stroke body inside a tight gantry Z-axis, where the through-rod resists rotation and the roughly 89 kg safe vertical lift at 0.5 MPa covers most aluminium fixture plates.
Pushes cartons off a packaging line at 30-500 mm/s; the double rod keeps the pusher plate square under side load and CMSE switches confirm each stroke via the fitted -S magnet.
At 1458.1 N per side at 0.5 MPa, this 63 mm double-rod unit suits clamping and reciprocating jobs needing equal force both ways. Step down to the 50 mm bore (881.2 N) for lighter clamps or up to the 80 mm bore (2356.2 N) for heavier press work. Remember it drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and since the -S magnet is fitted on this model, CMSE / DMSE switches work out of the box. For new designs, order ACED63X65 instead.
Replacement checklist
Because a rod exits both covers, output is equal both ways: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa on every stroke, with a maximum of 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. There is no larger push than pull - both faces use the rod-side area of the 63 mm bore.
Order ACED63X65 - swap the P for an E. It is the current-production ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class with a matching short body and mounting family. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture first, since the ACP was DIN-standard. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches mount directly.
