This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is B06-SAUD80X200 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the B06-SAUD80X200 in place of this model. The SAU replacement uses the same profile body, bore, stroke, force and SC-series mounting. It moves to the current CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensor switches (the SU used CS1-B / DS1-B) and adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.

The AirTAC Airtac B06-SUD Battery Dedicated Standard Cylinder B06-SUD80X200 is a double-acting profile-type standard cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 200mm stroke, 3/8" air ports and adjustable end cushioning. This model is discontinued — the drop-in replacement is the B06-SAUD80X200, which matches its bore, stroke, force and mounting.
The AirTAC B06-SUD80X200 is a double-acting double-rod profile cylinder where the B06- prefix marks it as a battery-manufacturing dedicated variant of the base SUD80X200, mechanically identical to it. A rod exits both ends on one piston, meaning both faces use the rod-side area and push and pull force are equal. This model is discontinued and the exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD80X200, which retains the 80mm bore, 200mm stroke, 3/8" port, and FA/LB mounting. The SAUD upgrades to current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors, whereas this legacy cylinder used CS1-B/DS1-B switches.
Because two rods share the piston, the design resists rotation and can drive two tools simultaneously from one compact extruded aluminium profile barrel that is shorter than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore. Force is equal both ways: 2268 N at 0.5 MPa, 3175 N at 0.7 MPa, and 4082 N at 0.9 MPa. For sizing, the safe working load is roughly 1361 N (about 60 percent of the 0.5 MPa figure), and the vertical lift capacity is about 116 kg with a 2:1 margin. This SKU has no magnet and cannot take a magnetic switch.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC SU datasheet (now discontinued). The B06-SAUD80X200 carries the same ratings. Confirm against the product label before installation. Thread options: PT / G / NPT.

The B06-SAUD80X200 produces the same force from the same bore — a true drop-in on output. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Legacy SU-family variants: SUD (double rod), SUJ (adjustable stroke) — each maps to its SAU equivalent (SUD→SAUD, SUJ→SAUJ). The current SAU line adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.
Drives dual opposing platens in prismatic cell stacking presses, using the equal both ways force to compress electrode packs without rotational drift.
Shifts battery modules sideways between conveyor lanes using both rod ends to carry parallel grippers, maintaining synchronous alignment.
Actuates opposing welding clamps on pack assembly lines, where the compact profile barrel saves space inside dense fixture arrays.
To replace the discontinued B06-SUD80X200, use the SAUD80X200 drop-in: the bore, stroke, 3/8" port, M20x1.5 rod thread, and FA/LB mounting are unchanged, but you must swap legacy CS1-B/DS1-B sensors for current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG switches. Because force is equal both ways, size it by checking the 2268 N at 0.5 MPa against your load, or step up to a 100mm bore if you need more push. A double-rod cylinder is right when you need anti-rotation, a back rod to carry a sensor cam, or to drive two tools. For strokes over 300mm, account for side-load deflection. This non-magnetic SKU cannot hold a load on air loss—the cushion only decelerates—so add an external rod lock for vertical holding.
Replacement checklist
Yes, it is discontinued. The B06- prefix denotes the battery-manufacturing dedicated variant of the base SUD80X200. The exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD80X200, which matches the 80mm bore, 200mm stroke, 3/8" port, and FA/LB mounting, but uses current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors instead of the legacy CS1-B/DS1-B switches.
Force is equal both ways at 2268 N at 0.5 MPa, 3175 N at 0.7 MPa, and 4082 N at 0.9 MPa. The safe working load is about 1361 N. It cannot hold a load on air loss because the 28mm adjustable air cushion only decelerates near stroke end; for vertical load holding you must add an external rod lock or pilot-operated check valve.
