The AirTAC SUD series is a double-acting, double-rod profile cylinder. A rod exits both ends, providing equal force in both directions and inherent anti-rotation. The extruded aluminum barrel is more compact than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore. The series spans six bores: 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100 mm, with ports ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 inch (PT, G or NPT).
Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa with a proof pressure of 1.5 MPa. The standard temperature range is -20 to +70 C, with a 150 C high-temperature option available. Speed ranges from 30-800 mm/s. Force output scales with bore size: at 0.5 MPa the series spans 345 N on the 32 mm bore up to 3681 N on the 100 mm bore.
The SUD series is discontinued. The direct drop-in replacement is the AirTAC SAUD series, which shares the exact same profile body, bore, stroke, equal-both-ways force, port and FA/LB mounting. The only change during the upgrade is the sensor switch: legacy CS1-B and DS1-B sensors are replaced by current CMSG, DMSG or EMSG models. The adjustable cushion decelerates the piston near stroke end but does not function as a mechanical lock or brake.
