The AirTAC Airtac B03-3V Explosion-proof Solenoid Valve B03-3V106A is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve. A 3/2 valve either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty. We stock this code and confirm its published figures from the datasheet on request.
The 3V106A is AirTAC's 1/8in 3V1 valve built around a 4.5 VA AC220V coil on a DIN plug connection, so wiring is a simple plug-in rather than soldered terminals. It is a direct-acting 3/2 valve with spring return: energise to feed the outlet, de-energise to let the spring vent it. That makes it a natural fit for single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamps and pilot duty.
It runs on 0-0.8 MPa of clean, 40 um filtered air with no lubrication, from -20 to 70 C, and the IP65 (DIN 40050) housing shrugs off dust and wash-down splash. The spring return also gives a defined safe state if power is lost. Ports are 1/8in PT, the standard thread for this family.

A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A 3V106A fires a short AC220V-triggered air pulse across a bottle filler's fill head, wiping drips away before capping.
The valve pressurises a swing clamp cylinder on a drill jig and vents it on spring return, locking and freeing the part in one motion.
Running from a 220 V control panel, the 3V106A pilots a larger pneumatic actuator on a small wash-plant line.
Because the 3V106A draws just 4.5 VA on AC220V, it is easy on control relays and small PLC relay cards, but 3V1 is the smallest body in the range and its flow coefficient is not published - so confirm any flow-critical sizing with us. When the job outgrows it, step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); pick 3V2M when manifold density beats flow. Double-acting cylinders belong with the 5-port AirTAC 4V series.
Match five points to your order: 1/8in port, thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order), AC220V coil, DIN plug entry, and single valve or a 1F-20F manifold station count.

Pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; protection IP65 (DIN 40050). Coil power by voltage: AC220V and AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W - this SKU is the 4.5 VA AC220V version with a DIN plug. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1 body, so ask us to verify flow for your line.
The 4.5 VA AC220V coil connects straight into a 220 V control circuit through a plug-in DIN socket, which speeds replacement during maintenance - unplug, swap, re-plug. Remember the valve is a 3/2 unit: it feeds or vents one line, so it drives single-acting cylinders, air blow or a pilot stage, never a double-acting cylinder (use AirTAC 4V for that).
