Choose this 50mm bore model when an application requires 825 N of thrust in both directions combined with mid-stroke holding. If your load demands less force, the 40mm bore offers 528 N thrust and a 900 N hold; for heavier loads, the 63mm bore provides 1402 N thrust and a 2200 N hold. Select the BSAID50X225 over a stroke-end-only SAIL cylinder when you must secure the load anywhere in the travel, not just at the limits. If no clamping is needed, a plain SAID cylinder suffices.
For safety-critical positioning, add an independent external safety measure, as the clamp is not a moving-rod brake. This model features PT tapered ports (1/4 inch cylinder ports, G1/8 enclasp port). The BSAID mounting set omits FB, CA, CB, and CR brackets, accepting only Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2. The 20mm rod thread handles side loads well, but for this 225mm stroke, an external guide is recommended to prevent binding.
