It is crucial to distinguish this holding force from cylinder thrust: you must size the clamp's 1400 N capacity against your static load, not the 825 N motion thrust.
This clamp locks bidirectionally only after the rod has come to a complete stop; it cannot brake a moving load. Unlocking requires balanced air pressure on both sides of the piston via the dedicated G1/8 enclasp port, preventing abrupt rod jumps upon release. Select this 50 mm bore model when an application demands mid-stroke holding and dual-side rod support. If you need more clamping authority, stepping up to the 63 mm bore increases the static holding force to 2200 N and the bidirectional thrust to 1402 N at 0.5 MPa. Conversely, a 40 mm bore reduces the hold to 900 N and thrust to 528 N. Choose this BSAID clamp-lock over a stroke-end-only SAIL cylinder when the load must be frozen at variable intermediate positions. If locking is entirely unnecessary, a plain SAID double-rod cylinder suffices.
As a replacement, verify the 50 mm bore, 50 mm stroke, double-rod layout, and PT tapered port threads. The 20 mm rod with an M16x1.5 thread offers robust side-load capacity for its size. For this double-rod variant, use the Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, or TCM2 mounting interfaces, as the FB, CA, CB, and CR brackets are omitted. Remember that safety-critical loads require an additional independent safety measure, as the clamp only engages after the cylinder stops and requires a balanced-pressure unlock.
