It is vital to distinguish the clamp holding force from the cylinder thrust: the 2200 N holding force resists the static load, while the 1402 N thrust drives the movement. The variable air cushion only decelerates the piston near the stroke ends; the clamp is what actually secures the load. The clamp locks only after the cylinder has stopped; it cannot brake a moving rod. Safety-critical loads require an additional independent safety measure. To replace this unit, match the 63 mm bore, 500 mm stroke, PT tapered ports (3/8 cylinder, G1/8 enclasp), and the BSAID mounting set (Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, TCM2). For a 500 mm stroke, the M16x1.5 rod thread handles side loads well, but an external guide is recommended to prevent binding over the long unsupported travel.
