The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF40X175S-08B is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø40mm bore, 175mm stroke and a built-in 4M210-08 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF40X175S-08B is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated 4M210-08 5/2 solenoid valve. Delivering a Cv of 0.89 and 16.0 mm2 effective area, the built-in valve switches the 40mm bore directly from a single DC24V terminal coil signal. It produces 628N of push force at 0.5 MPa and 879N at 0.7 MPa. While the cylinder body rates to 1.0 MPa, the practical operating range for this valved assembly is 0.15-0.8 MPa.
This unit includes a magnet for CMSE reed and DMSE electronic sensors. The manifold connects via PU tubing (O8xO5), and the valve port (1/4") differs from the cylinder port (1/4"). By default, the piston rod retracts when the coil is energised, but you can reposition the valve to extend-when-energised. This self-contained design eliminates remote plumbing, saving panel space for decentralized stations.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Ideal for large machines with decentralized stations, eliminating the need for a remote valve bank and extensive tubing runs.
Provides 628N of push force at 0.5 MPa in tight spaces, using the integrated 4M210 valve to switch itself instantly.
Simplifies machine upgrades by replacing separate cylinder and valve setups with a single DC24V terminal-driven unit.
Select this 40mm bore when you need 628N push force at 0.5 MPa; step down to a 32mm bore for 402N, or up to a 50mm bore for 982N. The SAIF40X175S-08B is ideal for decentralized machine stations where running separate valve tubing is costly, as one DC24V terminal connection drives the actuator. With a 175mm stroke, ensure proper guide support to prevent excessive side loading. For position verification, it is factory-fitted with an -S magnet compatible with CMSE and DMSE switches. Remember, the 5/2 valve routes air but does not lock the load; for true holding, use a SAIL lock or BSAI clamp-lock cylinder. Replacement requires matching the 40mm bore, 175mm stroke, 1/4" valve port, DC24V voltage, PT thread, terminal entry, and -S magnet.
Quick checklist
The 40mm bore generates 628N push force at 0.5 MPa and 879N at 0.7 MPa. The built-in 4M210-08 valve provides a Cv of 0.89 and 16.0 mm2 effective area.
By factory default, the rod retracts when the DC24V coil is energised. The 5/2 valve can be repositioned to extend-when-energised, allowing full control from one terminal signal without a separate remote valve.
