SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).

Choose this 40mm bore when a 32mm bore (402 N push at 0.5 MPa) is insufficient, but a 50mm bore (982 N push at 0.5 MPa) is oversized. The SAIF40X250S-08B is ideal for decentralized installations where running separate valve tubing is costly, as one DC24V coil signal drives the entire cylinder. The valve port is 1/4", while the cylinder port is PT 1/4". For replacements, verify the 250mm stroke, DC24V voltage, terminal entry, PT thread, and the -S magnet. Since the stroke is 250mm, ensure proper guiding to prevent excessive side loading on the rod.
Note that the built-in 5/2 valve routes air but does not lock the load; if the machine loses pressure, the cylinder will move. For true load-holding requirements, consider the SAIL lock cylinder or BSAI clamp-lock series instead of relying on the SAIF cushion.
